Voting to Reimagine the TFA State tournament has opened for paid TFA members – it will close on April 1st. The ballot was sent out by the Secretary last week. If you did not receive it, but believe you should have, please reach out to your Region Representative.
We consistently heard feedback during this process that there was a lot of information to process. The EC is preparing a chart comparing the various proposals that will be available here as soon as it is finished. We encourage voters to familiarize themselves with all proposals and cast their vote promptly to ensure the final results of this binding process reflects the will of the body.

This document contains a data-driven summary of the impact each of the proposals would have on the size of the state tournament, based on 2026 qualification data.
What Exactly Is The Process?
By November 1st, the TFA President-Elect will schedule a series of monthly meetings (November, December, January) soliciting ideas to reimagine the state tournament. Meetings will be open to the body, and at a minimum, Region Representatives will be responsible for presenting proposals from their region.
The EC will accept submissions for ideas emerging from these meetings until February 1st.
Proposals will be available on the website by the 2026 TFA State tournament. An opportunity to amend proposals will be offered (by the conclusion of the tournament).
Final proposals (as amended) will be posted for review on the TFA website by March 16th.
The voting period will run between March 23-April 1.
A committee composed of the President-Elect and the Region Representatives will be responsible for developing the ballot and calculating and reporting the votes.
The new TFA President will report the results of the votes by April 6th to the TFA body through the Region Representatives.
The results of this election will be binding.
Is There Data From Previous TFA States?
You can find 2024-2025 qualifiers data here.
You can find historical TFA attendance numbers broken out by event here.
What Happened At The Monthly Meetings?
Minutes from monthly meetings will be posted here after they occur.
What Proposals Have Been Submitted?
You can find all submitted proposals at this document. It will be updated on a rolling basis as we receive more proposals.
How Does Ranked Choice Voting Work?
Voting will be by rank choice. Voters will rank the proposals from most to least preferred. If no proposal receives over 50% of first-place votes, the proposal with the fewest votes is eliminated. The ballots for the eliminated proposal are then transferred to their second-ranked choice, and this process repeats until one proposal secures a majority of the votes and wins.
How would the Proposals change the TFA Bylaws
You can find proposed amendment language for each proposal here.
