This project has concluded and we have a new, updated copy of the Constitution. This page archives the process that the EC and the Constitution Committee undertook to complete this task.
A Note to the Body
At the TSCA Convention, members of the Constitution Committee met and established a need to track down missing amendments and incorporate them into the Constitution that lived on the TFA website. That live document can be found here.
Over the following weeks, we tracked down amendments from 2022-2025 that the Business Meeting Minutes reflected had passed. The archival work done during that process can be found on this spreadsheet, which has a link to the document / text we have for each amendment.
Ahead of the Committee’s meeting on October 22, the amendments we had record of were incorporated into a new, working copy of the Constitution. This document contains that work. Following that work, this document was compared to the live Constitution, and amended with a comment that reflects and explains discrepancies between those two documents. All changes reflect an amendment that had not been previously incorporated. At our first meeting post Convention, the Committee reviewed that work, approved changes, and made a list of pending amendments to track down. We also updated the State Champions list and the Hall of Fame list, and discussed the importance of promptly releasing our work to the body.
The following week, the chair of the Committee presented to the EC at their October meeting, where the EC approved the Committee’s proposed rollout.
We believe there is an area or two where record keeping was not as thorough as we would like which means portions of this document may still not be 100% accurate. If any member of the body believes they can provide insight into a change that should have been made that we have missed, they can submit the language and documentation to support that language through this form. The form will be open for submissions through December 15, at which point the Constitution Committee will review any suggested updates. A final version of the Constitution incorporating the suggestions from the body will go live on January 1.
The Committee will meet again on November 4th, when we will discuss a plan to recommend to the EC to ensure we do not find ourselves in this situation again.
